Rebel Climbed

Rebel climbed fences,
Rebel climbed trees,
She swung from the rafters
And dangled her knees.

“Get down!” yelled the grown-ups,
“Stop climbing that wall!”
But Rebel just grinned
And climbed higher—that’s all.

She clambered up lampposts,
She balanced on wires,
She scampered on rooftops
And chimney-top spires.

The neighbors all gasped,
“The girl’s lost her mind!”
But Rebel just laughed—
“There’s more sky to find!”

And one day at sunrise
She climbed out of sight…
Now folks look for Rebel
In stars every night.
