All I Want to Hear is Birds

The clang of steel and engines drone,
A city's hum, a world grown stone.
I've turned away, let senses wane,
To find some solace through the pain.

A thrush sings high, the wind runs low,
Through rustling leaves, its whispers flow.
And in that song, my heart takes wing,
The noise retreats, the birds still sing.
